Altun-Ha Mayan Ruin archeological site is a popular Mayan site in the north part of the Belize District. Altun Ha was an important trade center, trading all the way down to Panama and as far as what is now Mexico City. Numerous jade artifacts, obsidian artifacts, and exotic rocks from the Early Classic Period have been found in these ruins.
