About this Tour

Explore corals formations that are not found anywhere else along the reef. Shallow and protected by the Barrier Reef, Mexico Rocks features boulder coral formations providing habitats for vibrant species of fish.

Just a 20 minutes ride from our dive shop is this beautiful collection of giant brain corals, great star corals, elk horn corals, stag horn corals and vibrant inhabitants like butterfly fishes, spiny lobster, yellow tails, and sting rays.

The Name comes from traditional commercial fishermen that named their fishing grounds as you go further on the north point of Ambergris Caye. Mexico Rocks is a coral patch between the reef and the shores of Ambergris Caye, where you begin a snorkeling experience you wont forget. Snorkeling here is mainly boasted by the magnificent boulder formations of Brain Corals, Elk Horns and Great Star Corals that provide shelter for the tropical fishes and critters. Some of them include spiny lobsters, yellow tail snappers, and sting rays. A cave looking like path is also found here where you will find hundreds of baby snappers starring at you while you glide over them.
